Skiing and snowboarding at night
Both beginners and experts are welcome on Grouse Mountain. The resort is diverse and the 25 slopes are divided into different levels. The Cut is a very popular run and daredevils can enjoy challenging runs with names like Purgatory and Devil's Advocate. Thirteen runs are illuminated, making it possible to ski or snowboard at night, a spectacular experience with views of all the lights of Vancouver. Although it doesn’t snow much in Vancouver itself, Grouse Mountain has no complaints about the amount of fresh snow that falls each year. And should the weather fail to cooperate, there are no fewer than 35 snow machines to give nature a helping hand. The dazzling white surroundings and panoramic views of Vancouver also make Grouse Mountain a popular destination with hikers. Various adventurous trails can be followed with or without snowshoes.
Sky-high dining
Those who want to admire the surroundings while enjoying a fantastic dinner can indulge themselves at The Observatory. As the name suggests, this excellent restaurant offers spectacular views of the city. The desserts are a ‘must’, especially the carrot cake with date and walnut bottom crust. Those looking for a more affordable meal can eat at the Café in the Peak Chalet, an entertainment centre. This inviting bistro with cedar décor is perfect for relaxing and taking a break after a day of skiing or snowboarding in the cold. Make sure to try the Chili Bowl, a spicy dish that is sure to warm you up.
