Spending Miles

Once you’ve earned Miles, there are multiple ways you can spend them. What will you do with them? Check your options.

How to spend Miles

Are you saving up for a ticket or extra checked baggage, or would you rather donate to charity? Check out all the things you can do with your Miles.

Save money by buying your tickets with Miles instead of cash! With your Miles, you can buy exclusive Flying Blue reward tickets.

Keep in mind that you won’t be able to use your Miles to pay for taxes and carrier charges. Those need to be paid for separately at the time of booking.

Looking for a deal? Get a discount on your reward ticket with our promo rewards, which vary monthly. Find out what this month’s promo rewards are on the Flying Blue website and in the e-mails we send you if you’ve opted in.

Treat yourself by booking extra options: get yourself an upgrade, a seat with more legroom, or bring extra checked baggage with you. All with your Miles! You can arrange this while booking your ticket, or via My Trip after you’ve booked your ticket.

Don’t have enough Miles? No worries! Simply pay with a combination of Miles and cash. You can use Miles & Cash to buy a regular ticket or a reward ticket:

  • When you’re booking a reward ticket, you can pay up to 25% of your reward ticket with cash.
  • You can pay up to 25% of your regular flight tickets with Miles. You’ll only earn Miles on the part of your ticket you’ve paid with cash.

Feeling generous? Gift your Miles to another Flying Blue member and help them get the Miles they need! Your Miles will be transferred within 72 hours.

Please note that a fee applies. The exact amount of the fee depends on how many Miles you’re transferring and is shown when selecting the number of Miles.

Use your Miles to buy products and experiences, such as electronics, jewellery, and cultural tours. Head over to the Flying Blue Store and discover what you can buy with your Miles.
